Sonam Kapoor is Best Dressed Celebrity
Sonam, daughter of Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor, began her acting career with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Saawariya' opposite Ranbir Kapoor and later appeared in 'Delhi 6' opposite Abhishek Bachchan.
Although the actress has had hard luck in films as yet and has not got recognition for her acting skills has a great sense of fashion and has successfully created her own and very unique style statement.
Surprsisingly, on the list Bollwood top actresses Kareena Kapoor holds second position, Priyanka Chopra is third, Twinkle Khanna is fourth and Katrina is the on fifth one.
The young actress will now be seen in 'Ayesha', an Anil Kapoor film opposite young hunk Abhay Deol.
Jimmy Choo-ses H&M
Jimmy Choo will join the likes of Roberto Cavalli, Karl Lagerfield, & Stella McCartney with their very own collection exclusively for H&M. It will hit 200 H&M stores across the globe on November 14th. The line will include shoes, handbags, and clothing for both men and women. Yes, Mr. Choo becomes more economically-savvy (by eco-savvy, I mean, $400 thigh high boots, which is still a steal, bc any Jimmy Choo lover knows that a thigh high boot at Jimmy Choo would go for about $1200). Remember you get what you pay for and Choo shoes are investments! It makes a perfect gift for the holidays!
KHLOE IN VERA
No surprise, after this week's wedding shocker was announced, . . .all the glamorous details are slowly being released. First the gorgeous lavender invitations, then the "location" (supposedly Irving Azoff's house), then the surprise tweets between Kris & Mindy Weiss (event planner to the stars!), . . .the only thing the fashion mavens of the world care about, aside from that insanely gorg rock(9 karats! you can't miss it.), the only other thing is the dress-- what will Khloe be wearing?
(drum roll please) E!'s boisterous & sexy siren, Khloe Kardashian will be walking down the aisle in Vera Wang. Although details haven't been released as to the exact style, . . .the Bride Wars full princess gown is an idea that we think this goddess would look excellent in.
Congrats to Khloe for finding your prince charming in Lamar!
Variations in Priyanka's skin tone, hair and voice for WYR?
So the diligent director took pain staking effort to achieve the right look for the right character. Ashutosh says,“You can tell a girl’s personality not only by her clothes and hair but also by the way the hair bounces, voices and skin tones.”
Non-film hair stylist Asha Hariharan was brought in to do Priyanka Chopra’s hair for the 12 characters. For that it was needed that an expert beyond the expertise offered by the Bollywood names be roped in.Neeta Lulla has done all of Priyanka’s clothes.
Ashutosh believed that Priyanka could pull off all 12 parts. He saw how nuanced her performances were right from the time she made her debut in The Hero.
Rajesh Patil was roped in to do Priyanka’s 12 skin tones. Priyanka being dusky in complexion had a particularly tough time playing the more gora avtars.Priyanka has assumed a different skin tone, complexion and playback voices, each suited to the individual character in terms of personality and body/spoken language.
As for her voices Ashutosh sifted through innumerable voices with composer Sohail Sen before selecting the 11 voices (the 12th girl doesn’t sing).

Aishwarya and Neeta Lulla camaraderie goes sour!
In the glitzy and glam world of Bollwood, when deep and old camaraderie goes sour, nobody can predict. Such is the case with bong beauty, Aishwarya Rai and ace fashion designer, Neeta Lulla.
The duo had been friends for 11 years until their raport went bad. The disagreements between them started on the sets of Jodhaa Akbar where Ash and Neeta had a difference of opinion over her outfits in the film. Let me remind you that Neeta has worked with Ash on a number of films like Umrao Jaan, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas, Taal, etc. She has even designed Ash’s clothes in the Cannes film festival.Ash didn’t even go to Neeta’s show afterwards, where she had launched her daughter.
The final blow came in when Neeta asked Sushmita Sen to model for her and not Aishwiarya Rai Bachchan.
And while Ash is appearing in a number of films, she has chosen designers Manish Malhotra and Sabyasachi instead of Neeta. When Neeta was asked about the problem with Ash, she retorted back and refused to answer.
Kolkata Fashion Week II Highlights
'There will be 36 shows on the spring-summer collection,' said Yudhajit Dutta, managing director of Mindscapes Maestros Events and Sports Management.
The KFW-II will have 'Earth Couture' as the theme celebrating India's ethnic roots after United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation declaring 2009 as 'The International Year of Natural Fibre'. 'In the first edition (in April) we promoted weavers. We are going to do the same this time also,' said Indian cricket captain and KFW bran ambassador Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who was present at the media meet announcing the event.
The country's top models including Indrani Dasgupta, Sapna Kumar, Joey Matthews, Lakshmi Rana, Noyanika Chatterjee, Neha Kapur and Candice Pinto will be sashaying down the ramp showcasing the unique creations of the designers, he said.
Apart from giving 16 new designers a chance to showcase their creations, a nationwide model hunt from where 20 shortlisted contestants would participate at the second season of Kolkata Fashion Week will also be done.
RED CARPET REWIND: THE EMMY's
A few of my favorites, . . .more to come soon!
OLIVIA WILDE. Ravishing Red Carpet fashionista wore a beautifully sculpted asymmetrical ivory gown by Marchesa right off their S/S '10 collection, clutch by Marchesa also, Neil Lane jewels. This House star knows how to make her presence known. Kudos to her style team for keeping her on the Best Dressed list, over and over again!
Jenna Fischer: The Office star chose an onyx, silk-satin mermaid gown with hand-embroidered bust from Reem Acra’s 2010 Resort Collection instead of her character’s signature cardigan sweaters and white tennis shoes. Reem Acra knows how to accent a woman's body and this black number emphasizes Jenna's beautiful toned body.
MILA KUNIS. Mila Kunis looked ballerina-chic in a bordeaux ombre illusion tea-length dress by Monique Lhuillier. She accessorized with diamond pendant earrings and a 19th Century diamond bow bracelet by Fred Leighton.
GINNIFER GOODWIN. Ginnifer Goodwin wowed in a fuchsia draped Yves St. Laurent gown. The Big Love star added a jeweled statement necklace to the exaggerated sweetheart neckline that perfectly showed off her newly cropped hairdo.
JANUARY JONES. January Jones ditched her 1960’s Mad Men wardrobe for a modern, pink quartz silk satin evening gown with an embroidered glass beaded bustier by Versace and Jimmy Choo platform sandals.
CARRIE ANN INABA. Carrie looks sensational in a custom-made Lloyd Klein gown that wraps her like a goddess. The slit is both sexy and sophisticated. She chose to accent her gorgeous gown in Rene Caovilla heels and a clutch by Swarovski. Bare necklines are popular again and making the dress the masterpiece is the trend!

Salman joys women at men's fashion week
An ardent fan of Salman, Ishita Arora was hoding her one hand on her heart and the other one on her mouth as Salman was just few inches away from her. She says, “I can't believe. I am his biggest fan and I am shaking just by thinking about having Salman few inches away from me”. She also added that at one point she thought of hugging Salman but she couldn't gather enough courage to do that.
Salman looked dashing and very confident on the ramp. One lady yelled when Salman was wearing the Soni's black suit. When designers and the actor were taking the final round on the ramp Salman asked to the designers, 'ho gaya' and when they said yes Salman took off his coat showing the look of real Salman to the audience.
SEPTEMBER ISSUE
Anna Wintour, the legendary editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine for twenty years, is the most powerful and polarizing figure in fashion. Hidden behind her trademark bob and sunglasses, she has never allowed anyone to scrutinize the inner workings of her magazine. Until now. With unprecedented access, filmmaker R.J. Cutlers new film, takes the viewer inside a world they only think they know. Every August a record-breaking number of people cant wait to get their hands on the September issue of Vogue. The 2007 issue was and remains the biggest ever, weighing over four pounds, selling thirteen million copies, and impacting the $300-billion global fashion industry more than any other single publication. He takes us behind the scenes at Fashion Week, to Europe, on shoots and re-shoots, and into closed-door staff meetings, bearing witness to an arduous, entertaining, and sometimes emotionally demanding process. At the eye of this annual fashion hurricane is the two-decade relationship between Wintour and Grace Coddington, incomparable Creative Director and fashion genius. They are perfectly matched for the age-old conflict between creator and curator. Through them, we see close-up the delicate creative chemistry it takes to remain at the top of the ever-changing fashion field.

FASHION WEEK: REWIND- HERVE LEGER BEAUTY BETS
At Herve Leger the look was strong and beautiful with a touch of Rock & Roll. Our Rachel Hayes spoke with Diane Kendal of Nars, Dennis Lanni of Bumble and bumble and Jan Arnold, president of Creative Nail Design to get the details on how this look was put together. For makeup the designer asked for a strong, beautiful look, so Ms. Kendal went for a well defined strong brow to set the stage. The Exploding Pony Tail would be the best way to describe the very cool hair that Mr. Lanni put together. The secret is in the details; wet, dry and crimping. Finally the nails, dark and almond shaped. Jan Arnold says this slight elongated shape is flattering, but add in the dark color and you've arrived at Rock and Roll. (Source: DailyMakeover.com)
FASHION WEEK: REWIND-DVF GOES GLOBAL
Second Day of Kolkata Fashion Week
Designer Nandita Palchoudhuri showcased her weaver's work with the models setting the ramp on fire. This collection was unique as it exhibited a rare and a wide range of tangail, baluchari and dhakai sarees made by the craftsmen of West Bengal. .
"Weaves is the most unique collection one can ever have because it's made of yarn and any weave makes you look beautiful and elegant. So I believe the way the whole weave section has draped the girls with the dresses, long kurtas and everything, is completely unique," said Sengupta.
The second edition of the Kolkata Fashion Week slotted to end with a bang, with a Manish Malhotra show anticipated anxiously on Sunday.
Keep the track!
JANE HERMAN SHOPS MEN's SHOWS S/S '10
It was never my intention to become the resident menswear dresser at Vogue, but given how often I wear a tailored blazer or button-down shirt, or both, it sort of happened that way. Maybe it’s having short hair that makes me feel incomplete without a stiff collar? Maybe it’s my mother in me (her crisp-shirt-and-colorful-corduroy uniform is perfection)? But when I see pouf-hipped party dresses at Jason Wu and Derek Lam, I know two things for certain: (1) They’re gorgeous, and (2) they’re not for me.
What is on the runways for me right now I find at a much-less-expected locale: the men’s shows. Or, in some cases, on a coed catwalk, where the guys’ clothes complement what the women are wearing. For example, at Rag & Bone: Loved the way that David Neville and Marcus Wainwright paired tuxedo jackets with luxury long johns for the ladies, but the Lewis pant that many of the men had on was what I wanted––roll the leg, cinch the waist so that it’s paper-bagged a bit, and I’d be set (I’d also, probably, be alone with my look, which makes for great statement-making). Phillip Lim, who launched a men’s line in 2007, did his first presentation for only those clothes last Friday. There I found an option for evening—patchwork cardigan, blush-toned tank, leather karate-style Guru pant—to wear with a Balmain ankle boot, perhaps. And right downstairs from Lim, at Loden Dager, long dropped-crotch cotton shorts to wear with pretty blouses on the weekend couldn’t hit stores too soon for me.
“It’s so cool to see a girl in an oversize cardigan, like she just grabbed her guy’s before running out the door,” says Richard Chai, who showed his men’s collection right after his new Richard Chai LOVE line, which is, essentially, an ode to boyfriend dressing. Chai, I learned in a few fast minutes before showtime, is all for borrowing from the boys. I ask him which piece he thinks I could pull off. “The enzyme-washed parka (above),” he says. “Just wear it big.” When I see it come down the runway looking sharp but relaxed, sleeves rolled, not too tough, I swoon. And the model is pretty cute, too. - Jane Herman

The Ultimate Fashion Damsel of Bollywood
Kareena Kapoor is no doubtedly the most stylish Bollywood actress when it comes to style and according to her she is a fashion statement in herself. Kareena says, “‘I have to…I’ve no choice. I’m looked at as a fashion statement. Very tiring, but flattering. Dress designer Aki Narula has set impossible standards of fashion for me through my films. Now I’ve no choice but to live up to those standards. I’ve raised the bar for fashion.”
‘It becomes tiring for everything I wear to be in the media glare. I constantly need to be well-dressed. It’s a price I’ve to pay, in more ways than one. I don’t have a choice but to have my wardrobe filled with choices.Nowadays, when I go abroad, I find myself spending more time in shops than holidaying. It’s a responsibility. And I do need to be chic all the time. But my being a fashion icon also depends on my attitude and mood of the moment,” said Kareena.
So folks do you agree that Kareena is the most stylish actress in Bollywood.
FASHION WEEK S/S '10: DAY 1
Day 1 of Spring 2010 New York Fashion Week brings, Ports 1961, Luminess Air backstage at Purr, Michael Angel, BCBGMAXAZRIA and Rosa Cha. Guiding us through is Simon Doonan of Barney's with his Fashion Week Survival Tips.
1. Bring food with you. As you know, fashion + food do not go together, so if you are looking for a quick pick me up, try stashing a granola bar in your purse.
2. Dress OVERBOARD. This is your chance to shine. Fashion is fun. Your wardrobe should reflect that. The bigger, the better, make a STATEMENT!
3. MANNERS. When not loving a runway show, its always important to compliment the designer somehow, some way. "You've done it again."
4. KNOW YOUR ANGLES. Pose. Pose. Pose. Be the model, embrace the music, feel the electricity that is NY Fashion Week.
5. DON'T BE AFRAID TO BUST A MOVE. When the music is blaring and you are waiting in line, strut your stuff. Remember the world is a stage.
UNGARO GOES LO-HAN
Lohan has been appointed to the position of artistic adviser for the label. She will be working with new chief designer Estrella Archs, who replaces Esteban Cortazar.

ECONOMY CLAIMS A FASHION COMPANY
German company Escada is the first fashion company to fall victim to the declining economy this fall.
FRANKFURT -- German fashion company Escada AG filed for bankruptcy after being unable to obtain sufficient financing, a Munich district court said Thursday.
The Munich-based luxury label, famous for women's fashion and accessories, was expected to make the filing this week after it failed to get the necessary support for a bond swap.
Escada, once one of the biggest fashion brands in the world, has seen its sales and earnings decline in recent years.
The company had hoped to reduce debt by offering bondholders a new bond in exchange, made up of two parts plus a cash component. Taken together, the new bond would have carried a total nominal value of €400 ($568) in exchange for every €1,000 in nominal value of the old bond.
Escada said a number of restructuring measures, including a plan to raise €30 million through its bigger investors and a credit extension of more than €13 million, had been contingent on the bond swap, but it didn't get enough support from the bondholders. The minimum acceptance ratio was 80% of bondholders.
A successful swap would have also given the company some immediate liquidity to help it eliminate some of its debt.
The company said earlier this week that the situation was "regrettable," but that it still hoped for a turnaround in its finances and business.
In the fiscal year 2008, the company posted a net loss of €70 million and sales of €528 million. In the first half of the fiscal year ending in April, it lost €92 million.
Escada operates 182 of its own shops and 225 franchise shops in more than 60 countries, employing about 2,300 people.
Shares of Escada fell 6% to 66 European shares in afternoon trading in Frankfurt.
