FROM THE FIELD TO THE CATWALK

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Terrell Owens is not always the model teammate, but from now on, everything he does will be model behavior.

That's because the often verbose pass-catching enthusiast signed a contract with the Wilhelmina Agency this week. Owens said he was approached by the firm, which was founded by former supermodel Wilhelmina Cooper and has offices in the model-friendly cities of Los Angeles, New York and Miami.

Seeking to capitalize on Owens' popularity, the agency will represent him in future endorsements and sponsorship deals in the fashion and personal care industries.
"Well, I'm always putting my hands in and feeding into something," Owens said. "When you've got some good looks like myself, you've got to take full advantage of it."
Owens got another bit of good off-the-field news recently when VH1 decided to pick up his reality show for a second season.

All is not peachy for the symmetrically-faced one, however. Owens' Bills are 4-8 on the year.

THREAD IT AGAIN

I love seeing my friends from college succeed and I will do my best to spread the word on the West Coast. Check out Brandy Pham's "Thread it Again" line on etsy. (www.threaditagain.etsy.com). A few of my personal favorite things that will enhance your current wardrobe:

1. Sequin Tank. This unique Gold and Black Sequin Tank is fully lined and clean finished with 100% Silk Charmeuse that's silky smooth and soft against your skin. It also has a beautiful gold exposed zipper closure in the back that makes it even more special.

You can wear it with skinny jeans, tuck it in a full skirt, pencil skirt, or even a cute pair of shorts! You'll never have to worry about someone else showing up at a party with the same tank also because it's limited edition!

2. Oversized Bow Raglan Scoop Neck. Grey soft oversized raglan sleeve top w/ raw edged Charmeuse center front bow & gems. Reverse a-line allows this tee to sit on the hips, while the wide scoop neck gracefully falls off the shoulder for a subtly flirty look.

3. Rosette Pocket Tank Dress. Black pocket tank dress with inset pocket in side seams and black & white print Rosette cluster trim; 5” vents at sides of bottom hem. You can dress it up or down, belt it or not; either way, it's super soft, comfortable, and roomy!

So, shop, support this amazing upcoming NY designer. Brandy is an extremely talented designer who has her own clothing line- www.brandypham.com.

Always Stay Best Dressed!

JANE HERMAN SHOPS MEN's SHOWS S/S '10

It was never my intention to become the resident menswear dresser at Vogue, but given how often I wear a tailored blazer or button-down shirt, or both, it sort of happened that way. Maybe it’s having short hair that makes me feel incomplete without a stiff collar? Maybe it’s my mother in me (her crisp-shirt-and-colorful-corduroy uniform is perfection)? But when I see pouf-hipped party dresses at Jason Wu and Derek Lam, I know two things for certain: (1) They’re gorgeous, and (2) they’re not for me.

What is on the runways for me right now I find at a much-less-expected locale: the men’s shows. Or, in some cases, on a coed catwalk, where the guys’ clothes complement what the women are wearing. For example, at Rag & Bone: Loved the way that David Neville and Marcus Wainwright paired tuxedo jackets with luxury long johns for the ladies, but the Lewis pant that many of the men had on was what I wanted––roll the leg, cinch the waist so that it’s paper-bagged a bit, and I’d be set (I’d also, probably, be alone with my look, which makes for great statement-making). Phillip Lim, who launched a men’s line in 2007, did his first presentation for only those clothes last Friday. There I found an option for evening—patchwork cardigan, blush-toned tank, leather karate-style Guru pant—to wear with a Balmain ankle boot, perhaps. And right downstairs from Lim, at Loden Dager, long dropped-crotch cotton shorts to wear with pretty blouses on the weekend couldn’t hit stores too soon for me.

“It’s so cool to see a girl in an oversize cardigan, like she just grabbed her guy’s before running out the door,” says Richard Chai, who showed his men’s collection right after his new Richard Chai LOVE line, which is, essentially, an ode to boyfriend dressing. Chai, I learned in a few fast minutes before showtime, is all for borrowing from the boys. I ask him which piece he thinks I could pull off. “The enzyme-washed parka (above),” he says. “Just wear it big.” When I see it come down the runway looking sharp but relaxed, sleeves rolled, not too tough, I swoon. And the model is pretty cute, too. - Jane Herman

FASHION WEEK: REWIND- ALEXANDER WANG GOES BIG

Nylon tv covers the Alexander Wang runway show for Spring Summer 2010. The motto "Go Big or Go Home" is relevant throughout the entire collection. Leopard prints, bold shoulders, slim silhouettes, and a funky wedge sets this collection apart from the rest.

* “O.K., so it’s not a conventional love story, but the Alexander Wang tough-chick muse has found herself a jock. … That plot thickened into sweatshirt-leather combos that surely will be considered among the most trendsetting looks at New York fashion week.” (Associated Press)
* “Very much a mega-triumph.” (Fashion Wire Daily)
* “There is something raw and wild about Mr. Wang’s work that is pushing utilitarian sportswear in a new direction.” (International Herald Tribune)
* “These are the clothes your high school cheerleaders should’ve worn had they Alex’s uncanny knack for making the routine look special again.” (Refinery 29)
* ” ‘Our girl wants investment pieces.’ Those are mature words coming from downtown fashion’s pied piper — but Wang’s take on ‘timeless’ means a classic gray sweatshirt fused with a corset.” (Style.com)
* “A three-gun salute for Wang; this collection pressed all the right buttons.” (The Daily Telegraph)
* “There was much to like in the attitude of Mr. Wang’s collection, especially metallic Fair Isle sweaters and the funny references to football padding.” (The New York Times)
* “Wang took classic American off-duty (and, as in the case of some football-inspired pieces, on-duty) sportswear to a very cool place.” (Vogue.com UK)
* “[A] charmingly wicked take on American sportswear.” (Women’s Wear Daily)
