Most Photogenic Bollywood Actresses

The most photogenic actress in Bollywood. Make a guess at who all will feature in this list.

Aishwarya Rai Bachan

Even at 35, Ash is the hottest woman in Bollywood (or in the world for that matter). We feel that if actors can peak starting at the age of 40, 35 is practically adolescence. We hereby declare Aishwarya as the most photogenic woman in Bollywood.

Freida, fame Slumdog Millionaire

Following closely behind Ash is India’s other international face – Freida Pinto. Post the success of Slumdog Millionaire, Freida has all but given up on Bollywood and has decided to concentrate on
Hollywood. That hasn’t stopped polls from comparing her to Aishwarya Rai (who is pitched as her greatest competition). We feel, second place is most apt for Freida in the list of most photogenic ladies of Bollywood.
Kareena Kapoor

Kareena Kapoor was recently declared the most powerful woman in Bollywood. In fact, she was the only actress featured on the list of most powerful celebs brought out by Filmfare. She is bubbly, beautiful and an amazing actress, and she deserves place in the top three on the list of the most photogenic women in Bollywood.

Katrina Kaif

Katrina Kaif has been termed Bollywood’s lady with a Midas touch as every film she acts in goes on to become a hit. She is the fourth most photogenic woman in the film industry. After all, how many actresses look great even without much makeup and a simple cotton sari…check out Katrina in her Rajniti avatar.

Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra is currently Bollywood’s best actress. After winning hordes of awards for her role in Fashion, and after a heavy-duty year in 2008, Priyanka is exhausted. While she recovers from her workaholic lifestyle, we think that she is gorgeous enough to make the top five of the most photogenic women in Bollywood.
Bipasha Basu

Bollywood’s dusky beauty Bipasha Basu’s career needs some uplifting at the moment. After the debacle that was Aa Dekhen Zara, she has decided that she wants to try her hand at direction. While she mulls over this potential new role, we hope she will remain an actress, because she is, afterall, the sixth most photogenic woman in Bollywood.

Deepika Padukone

Deepika is all of three movies old in Bollywood, but ever since she entered the film industry she made waves for her subtle, dusky beauty. Be it her mesmerising role in Om Shanti Om, or her Kung-Fu avatar in Chandni Chowk to China, Deepika mastered every look and seemed to be a
natural! She can sport any look and still look beautiful, therefore we think she is the seventh most photogenic woman in Bollywood.

Sonam Kapoor

The final entrant into our list of the most photogenic ladies in Bollywood is Sonam Kapoor. Despite a disastrous first film (Saawariya), Sonam’s beauty attracted directors to her by the dozen, making her one of Bollywood’s most desired actressed.

Black Beauties on Filmfare Cover

The June 2009 issue of the Bollywood magazine 'Filmfare' is a triple treat as it features three different covers with three different leading ladies. Shilpa Shetty, Bipasha Basu and Asin are featured on the different covers of Filmfare's 'Woman On Top' issue.

All are dressed in sleek black dresses, belted at the waist in similar poses. Doesn't get more hotter, or high fashion than that!

Here's the real question - with the three different covers and choices, which one do you prefer? Do you like the senior most actress, Shilpa? Or how about the most sensual of the trio, Bipasha? Or perhaps you prefer the newcomer Asin.

Check out and drop us a comment letting us know which one you like best!

Bollywood Divas opt for Long Tresse's

Kareena Kapoor as Dolly MishraImage via Wikipedia

They might experiment with the cut, but when it comes to the length of those silky locks, long is how our silverscreen’s temptresses prefer it.

Be it Sonam Kapoor, Tabu, Kareena Kapoor, Tara Sharma, Celina Jaitley, Amrita Rao, Hannsikaa Motwani or even Bipasha Basu, one thing all ofthem have in common is long tresses. Wonder if that’s any style
statement or just a personal choice!

Hansikaa Motwani has no issues managing her long tresses. "Moreover, when you have long hair, you have the choice of sporting different kinds of looks. Like in real life, I generally go for soft perms, the straightened look, or even the razor cut for different occasions,” she says.

However, while Sonam Kapoor may boast of having the longest tresses in the industry at present, the actress herself says that she would not mind going in for a hair cut, provided it’s for a role. After all, hair can be re-grown and actually it’s your work that is counted, at the end of the day.

Sonam Kapoor is one of the few B-Town actress who simply has a passion to experiment with her tresses rather than keep them poker straight and always ironed.

Bipasha Basu was in news for her super stylish avatar in the movie “Race”, those long locks were deadly.

Check out head turners. Got it, flaunt it... seems to be the motto here. Ah well, we're not complaining! All's good that looks good, hai naa?

Bipasha's look fantabulous in Pankh

Gavin Miguel has dressed Bollywood divas like Priyanka Chopra, Kareena
Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, but designer Gavin Miguel opinions that among
all the ladies, Bipasha Basu outshines when it comes to experimental
dressing.

She will surprise everyone with her new look in forthcoming film
"Pankh", he predicts.

"She gives me complete freedom when it comes to dressing her up. She
is very experimental and tries to change her look in every movie. The
best part is that she carries herself so well that everything looks
good on her," Miguel said.

Miguel is styling Bipasha for Sudipto Chattopadhyaya's "Pankh", in
which she plays an imaginary character. The designer admits that he
initially had thought Bipasha was "broad-framed", but his perception
changed after working with her.

In fact she has lost a lot of weight, Bips is now looking svelte and sexy.

The Mumbai-based designer says Bipasha's look in the movie would be a
total surprise package.

The designer has been in the industry for over 10 years now but he
hogged the limelight with Madhur Bhandarkar's "Fashion" in which he
dressed up the three leading ladies - Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut
and Mugdha Godse.

"Yes, it gave me exposure, but fortunately people in the industry knew
me already because I let my work speak for me. I make customised
clothes and whosoever I dress up, they buy my clothes and this is my
major source of income," Miguel quipped.

Miguel had also dressed Tabu and Priyanka Chopra at the recently held
54th Filmfare awards.

Besides "Fashion", the designer has showcased his work in movies like
"Road", "Kaante", "Dhoom", "Dhoom 2" and "Drona", among others.

Surprisingly, Miguel, who is over 30 years old, hasn't participated in
any of the fashion weeks as he believes there is a right time for
everything.

"Participating in fashion weeks will surely happen but only at the
right time," he said.

His work, he says, is his passion and he believes that bonding with
one's client is very important while dressing them up.

"Understanding your client and bonding with them is the foundation of
this business. You need to have a good rapport with them. The other
important thing is that you have to understand their body type,
understand their personality and then design accordingly," Miguel
explained.

"It is similar when we design for a Bollywood movie. A lot of hard
work goes into every single dress because we have to keep so many
things in mind," he added.

Bollywood divas at 54th Filmfare Awards

Sonam Kapoor at 54th Filmfare Awards

The eye-grabber of the evening doubtlessly was the Masakali girl Sonam Kapoor in a white flawless off-shoulder Chanel dress. The lady matched it up with black nail paints, simple make-up, and smoky eyes with dash of silver, and small butterfly-shaped hair jewels. And this is arguably the first time Chanel has sent their design to an actress in Bollywood.

Priyanka Chopra at 54th Filmfare Awards

Aishwarya Rai at 54th Filmfare Awards

Priyanka Chopra , who won the Best Actress figurine, was not really the winner in her style statement which is becoming a tad repetitive. Granted that the Alberta Ferrarti dress looked fetching, but even the royal blue, one-shouldered gown failed to accentuate Priyanka’s beauty because of her usual pin-up hair-do and long diamond earrings On the contrary, the Bachchan bahu Aishwarya Rai looked stunning in a Sabyasachi black and bronze sari. Adding the oomph factor was her sleeveless blouse in a vest kinda style and her hair rolled in a bun. Thank goodness the experiment suited her.

Asin at 54th Filmfare Awards

Genelia D'Souza at 54th Filmfare Awards

Asin , who won the Best Debutante award, looked different from the rest. She looked regal in her purple dress and her retro hairstyle. Genelia D'Souza was glamorous in shiny, figure-hugging black Cavalli gown and her fringes looked cute! Another lady in gown was chirpy Preity Zinta who opted for a black outfit with lace-work on the off-white bust of her gown and a matching clutch.

Kareena Kapoor at 54th Filmfare Awards

Bipasha Basu at 54th Filmfare Awards

While most of the ladies were dolled up like princess, a few chose the ethnic Indian wear. It was Sari day for hotties like Bipasha Basu and Kareena Kapoor . Bipasha chose a beautiful Sabyasachi black sari and teamed it up with red coloured blouse and lot of bangles and green earrings. The white emphasizes elegance, and style diva Kareena managed it well in a white sari with intricate silver work. No points for guessing it were Manish Malhotra again for her.

Kangana Ranaut at 54th Filmfare Awards

Sushmita Sen at 54th Filmfare Awards

Prachi Desai at 54th Filmfare Awards

Black is a safe bet, but the winner of Best Supporting actress Kangana Ranaut ’s black dress with chains to highlight the neckline can be described in one word - weird. Sushmita Sen chose black and looked effortlessly elegant, though the lady wasn’t her best. Prachi Desai ’s love for black is well known and she sported the same colored Raakesh Aggarwal gown with excitement, but to our utter disappointment.

Bipasha to wear his bf John Abraham’s jeans

Bipasha Basu

You must be wondering what’s wrong with Bipasha Basu . But no, the same can be true for other actresses like Kareena Kapoor or Deepika Padukone. Wanna know how?

It started from the west (has to be) when Victoria Beckham slipped into hubby David Beckham’s jeans and Katie Holmes searched every niche and crevice of Tom Cruise ’s wardrobe for apt garb.

This trend, termed as ‘Boyfriend jeans’, is catching up fast in India. And if things keep going the way they are, we might see Kareena trying Saif’s jeans or Deepika flaunting Ranbir’s denims.

The brands and outlets like Mango are filling the stores with such jeans. In Delhi, the trend has already started, as some collegians are
sporting this style of loose jeans.

Hair styles and dresses catch the fancy of youngsters very quickly and the best recent example is of Ghajini hair-do popularized by Aamir Khan Bollywood’s sexy sirens and fashionable ladies are generally the trendsetters for girls.

Bipasha Basu has credit for making street fashion a vogue. Anaita Shroff Adajania , fashion director of Vogue India and stylist who works regularly with Bollywood stars, says, “Probably next year in summer we may see many Bollywood stars sporting this new trend of ‘boyfriend jeans’”.

‘Boyfriend Jeans’ doesn’t means wearing the jeans of your boyfriend but a kind of fit where denims are not skin fit; in fact, it’s bit baggy, but fits well to the figure. This style will soon enter Indian markets with more types and cuts.

Wonder if the trend will work other way round too – ‘Girlfriend Jeans’. Imagine guys wearing figure hugging denims and high heels!
