2011 Fall London Fashion Week: Vivienne Westwood

Vivienne Westwood can pretty much do whatever she wants these days, as her pieces are always amazing. This season, she chose to present at the Royal Courts of Justice, which is such a beautiful, grand location and provided the perfect contrasting backdrop for her rebellious designs.
She was inspired by Londoners and tried to incorporate elements of their lives. There was a very British feel with plenty of tartan and woolen pieces all in her signature asymmetric cut. Looks were layered up and teamed with big, messy hair. There were some crowns created with hair, adding to the chaotic feel. Louis Carroll's Through the Looking Glass was also cited as inspiration. I am not surprised that this surreal book appeals to Vivienne's eclectic style! She used a range of fabrics including wool, velvet, and cotton.
  • Trends: Heritage, statement outerwear, clashing prints.
  • Colours: Many, but red was key.
  • Accessories: Knee-high socks, elbow-length gloves, silk scarves.
  • Key look: Multicoloured feather jacket with sequined pencil skirt.
  • Who would wear this: Fans of Westwood, those who like interesting shapes.

Fashion trends 2011: what goes

A few days of receiving a new year 2011, and having reviewed all the trends that have emerged with the new season, we have to admit that some will stay with us throughout the next year (and maybe longer), while others be forgotten as an attempt to fashion which was not consolidated.

Know what those trends should not miss in your looks, 2011. This time we were inspired by the most knowledgeable fashion (many of them thanks to their stylists) celebrities.

For a more formal or party, do not hesitate to decant you by pastel shades, such as have Eva Mendes and Kate Bosworth. No matter whether it is spring or winter where you live, this trend remains unchanged. To add a plus of distinction, add-ons to your look with jewels or pick a dress in a fabric that has a subtle touch of shine.

Sweater and a leather belt is the star combination in outerwear. Whether a thin cardigan or a thick knitted jersey, one of the goals is to make your figure despite having a warm garment. This look is already on the street and actress Rosario Dawson also preferred.

The return of the living room pointed shoes with high heels and thin. A good option is in conjunction with cigarette pants or skinny, so create the sensation of having longer legs and stylized. Charlize Theron takes them in black and faded jeans, while Michelle Monaghan adds a touch of color (red shoes) very retro black pants.

The military-style jacket is that succeeds warm clothes this winter. Sarah Jessica Parker, a real fashion icon, a model combines short leather skirt with lace ruffle (all brown) opts for Kylie Minogue a coat, printing a touch of “chic” to a casual outfit. All fashion retailers have embraced this trend, including Zara, that throughout 2010 we have offered various models of military-style jackets.

A maxi-jersey can also be worn as dress, or a knit dress with short sleeves, are two of the many alternatives in this warm winter clothing, which can add a belt to stylize your picture. Nicole Richie and Cameron Diaz also pointed to this trend.
