That same day, Ashley took part in Glamour’s discussion of the future of fashion at NYC’s 92nd Street Y. Ash was joined by designer Isaac Mizrahi and Washington Post writer Robin Givham. The event was moderated by Glamour’s editor-in-chief, Cindy Leive.
Citing comfort as a priority in her dressing, 23-year-old Ashley also said she thought the success of her clothing line with Mary Kate was due to their innovation in the market. “We were able to bring something to the consumers that didn’t exist before, which was really quality affordable clothes for young girls,” she said.
Ashley gave a preview of her new high-end line with MK, The Row, as she wore a production sample from the line and a black boucle Chanel jacket while carrying a clutch by Bally. As for what she hoped the future of fashion would be, Ash said, “More exciting!”
