Tribute to Liz Claiborne (1929-2007)

At Penn Station in 1949 on her way to Paris after winning Harper Bazaar's designer contest.

She had a great range of items, and I am fond of many, especially that fabulous coat!

Much to say about fashion - Tyra Banks

The runway symbolizes something in society that's very intimidating to women.

As a model, you're so used to taking your clothes off that you just don't care.

If I had a sugar daddy...

These pumps are delicious. I have wanted some Christian Louboutin pumps since the celebs started wearing the red-soled shoes on the red carpet and out on the town.

“The only rule is don't be boring and dress cute wherever you go.
Life is too short to blend in.”

“Every woman should have four pets in her life.
A mink in her closet, a jaguar in her garage, a tiger in her bed,
and a jackass who pays for everything.”

Paris... almost free

In honor of Paris getting out of prison, I thought I would dedicate a post to her. I think she often looks wonderful (she should with all that money), but I don't really know what to think of her. Her outfit heading into court is perfect (above). I also do love her choice of sunglasses (below).

The girl does know how to market herself. Starting with the scandalous Hardee's commercial, she worked her phrase "That's Hot." like no one's business (see shirt below). Plus, she's actually getting money from being in jail.

The outfits below are some of my faves. 1. that dress is to-die-for, 2. I wish I could find that vintage swimsuit and 3. that shirt is stunning, and the puppies are adorable.
Of course, she has had her share of faux pas. 1. Even celebrities can look bad (LOVE those shoes), 2. Braids, skanky outfit, what was she thinking?!, 3. I think I can almost see her hoo-ha, and that is not exactly fashionable...

I love this red dress and the black accessories, but hanging out with Brit might not be the best step for her...

I also found these pictures of her showing 1. the old Paris with brown eyes and 2. the new Paris with blue eyes, blond hair and maybe some other things done. It's so interesting that I wanted to share!

Happy Shopping,

gg

If I had a sugar daddy...

This outfit is gorgeous. I might be willing to sell my kidney for it. (and I am only slightly kidding)

VS semi-annual sale starts in stores 6/19 - TOMORROW!

I am pumped for tomorrow's grand event - the start of Victoria's Secret Semi-Annual Sale (SAS) in stores. The sale has been going on for a little bit online, and I have purchased a few things to be sure I got them at the discount prices. As many of you probably know, it gets crazy at the stores during the SAS, and the hot items go fast. It seems everyone is a medium in the underwear (my size) so I have to get there early to get the stuff I want. Then it gets a bit stressful with the massive amount of women attacking the piles of underwear, bras and sleepwear. Although it can be intense, I still always want to go to the store and see what kind of deals I can walk away with!

My favorite VS bra right now is the Very Sexy Infinity Edge Extreme Plunge (right, $24.99), but I also love the Secret Embrace. I bought this one in yellow with a little wild leopard edging... very exotic!

I am so addicted to sexy sleepwear, but I usually wait until the items go way on sale to buy them. I love the ribbon chemise below ($24), and those baby dolls are adorable. I have wanted the white one ($68) for a while, but it does not go on sale. I'll have to just bite the bullet and buy it, but I might wait so I can buy it for my wedding night sleepwear... The one by the pool makes me laugh - yes, I would just buy that outfit ($24.99) to wear for sunbathing... ok, not really.

I also love this little robe ($34.99), and it comes in a variety of colors. Shop away, girls!

If I had a sugar daddy...

How cute would I be with this?!

Float Trip Fashion

Float trip. Fashion. Those two things don't usually go together, but in a couple of weekends, I am going to attempt to pair the two. It's hard to look good when you are camping so I am going to be ready with a personal mirror and cute, easy clothes. I have gathered some photos of people I don't know on float trips to analyze their fashion. To the left, you have one girl in a bikini top with her hair down and one girl going a bit sporty with an un-fitted T and pulled back hair. I think the black and white top looks great. I am going to try to steer away from the oversized T-shirt look. I just hope they both remembered to pack their sunscreen. It's so easy to get fried while drinking and being in the sun for several hours, especially with the reflective quality of water. The one spot I always make sure I apply extra sunscreen is the upper thigh area that is openly exposed when sitting in a canoe all day.

I like these spaghetti strap tops, and I think that's a cute option. Simple and functional.

As far as this rowdy bunch goes, I would steer away from both the T-shirt/sport shorts combo and the visor. I know your hat might get tossed in the water when your canoe capsizes, but even a ball cap is cuter than a visor! We won't talk about the hair mistakes in this picture...

Here's a way-cheap option for a cover-up that I might do because if I ruin it, it didn't cost much. You see, river water isn't always clean, especially if you tip your canoe over. Then you can get soaked with river water and there is the possibility for tearing your lovely clothes. Alas, with the cute little outfit below, I can still look chic out on the water. It is a seersucker dress from the lovely Wal-Mart ($10). The fabric won't even wrinkle in the bag stuffed into the car, pushed into a ziploc bag so I can get some suntime in just my suit or crumpled up beside the blow-up mattress! I just hope I can find it at my local Super Wal-M.

The black tankini below from Target (top - $18) is what I will be wearing, I think; I have not completely made up my mind just yet. Instead of the traditional black bottom, I paired it with a black hipster type with a cute zebra belt. I was lucky enough to find it on sale for $5 each piece. Nothing like a $10 tankini! I do love Target!

So I hope we don't see a whole bunch of rocks like the first picture. That umbrella is... um... interesting. And that last pic is very typical float trip. I only can hope ours gets that crazy!
